For the Steak

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1.5 cm thick pieces

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled (optional, for rubbing)


For the Creamy Horseradish Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1–2 tablespoons prepared horseradish (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


Garnish

  • Fresh parsley or chives, finely chopped

Step 1: Prepare the Crostini

Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F.
Arrange baguette slices on a baking tray and brush lightly with olive oil.
Toast for 8–10 minutes, flipping once, until golden and crisp.
Optional: Rub warm toast lightly with a garlic clove for extra flavor. Set aside.


Step 2: Cook the Steak

Pat the steak dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for preference).
Remove from heat and rest for 5 minutes.
Slice into thick pieces.


Step 3: Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix sour cream, horseradish, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Taste and adjust seasoning.


Step 4: Assemble the Crostini

Place steak slices on top of each crostini.
Spoon a small amount of horseradish sauce over the steak.
