🧾 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g whole button mushrooms, cleaned

  • 120 g bacon, diced

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced


For the Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)


Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • Extra Parmesan cheese (optional)


👨‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Bacon

Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced bacon and cook until crispy.
Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.


Step 2: Sear the Mushrooms

Add olive oil and butter to the pan with the bacon fat.
Increase heat to medium-high.
Add mushrooms in a single layer and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides.
Do not overcrowd the pan.


Step 3: Add Garlic

Lower heat to medium.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.


Step 4: Make the Cream Sauce

Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently.
Add Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
Simmer for 4–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.


Step 5: Finish the Dish

Return the crispy bacon to the pan.
Stir to combine and simmer for another 1–2 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning.


Step 6: Serve

Remove from heat.
Sprinkle generously with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
Serve hot.
