Strawberry Avocado Feta Salad with Pistachios & Crispy Onions

A Piña Colada is a tropical cocktail that perfectly blends the sweet and creamy flavors of pineapple and coconut with a hint of rum. Originally from Puerto Rico, this drink is a favorite at beachside resorts and summer gatherings. Whether you're enjoying a sunny day or just craving a refreshing tropical escape, this homemade Piña Colada will transport you to paradise!
1 cup fresh pineapple (or canned) in chunks π – for a naturally sweet and fruity flavor
½ cup coconut milk or coconut cream π₯₯ – for a smooth and creamy texture
½ cup pineapple juice π – enhances the tropical taste
1½ oz (45 ml) white rum – the key to a classic Piña Colada (adjust to taste)
1 cup ice βοΈ – to create a slushy, refreshing texture
Sugar or honey (optional, to taste) π― – if you prefer a sweeter cocktail
1 pineapple slice and 1 maraschino cherry for garnish ππ – for the perfect finishing touch
If using fresh pineapple, peel and cut it into small chunks. If using canned pineapple, drain it well.
Measure out the coconut milk (for a lighter texture) or coconut cream (for a richer taste).
Have your rum, pineapple juice, and ice ready.
In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks, coconut milk or cream, pineapple juice, white rum, and ice.
Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, add a little more pineapple juice. If it’s too thin, add a bit more ice.
Before serving, taste the Piña Colada. If you like it sweeter, add a small amount of sugar or honey and blend again.
Pour the drink into a hurricane glass or a large cocktail glass.
Decorate with a fresh pineapple slice on the rim and a maraschino cherry on top.
Optionally, add a small paper umbrella for a fun tropical vibe.
Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy your homemade Piña Colada! πΉ
If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply skip the rum! You can add a little extra pineapple juice or a splash of coconut water for a refreshing mocktail that the whole family can enjoy.
β Use frozen pineapple instead of fresh + ice for an extra creamy and thick texture.
β Coconut cream vs. coconut milk – Coconut cream makes it richer, while coconut milk keeps it lighter.
β Blending time – Blend just until smooth; over-blending can make it too watery.
β Experiment with flavors – Add a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon for a twist.
Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy your delicious homemade Piña Colada! ππ₯₯πΉβ¨
