Cheesy Garlic Chicken Bake – Tender Chicken with a Melted Garlic Cheese Topping
Cheesy Garlic Chicken Bake combines juicy baked chicken with a rich garlic cream sauce and a melted cheese topping. The chicken stays tender while the cheese melts into a golden layer on top.
Garlic and cream form the base of the sauce, creating a smooth texture that coats the chicken during baking. As the dish finishes in the oven, the cheese melts and slightly browns, creating a stretchy topping.
The result is a comforting dinner dish with creamy texture and strong visual appeal.
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
2 large chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the garlic cream sauce
2 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken broth
½ teaspoon black pepper
For the topping
1 cup shredded mozzarella
½ cup grated parmesan
Fresh parsley, chopped
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1 – Prepare the chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 2 – Sear the chicken
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for about 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden.
Step 3 – Prepare the garlic sauce
In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for about 20 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4 – Add cream and broth
Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir gently and allow the sauce to simmer for about 3 minutes.
Step 5 – Transfer to baking dish
Place the seared chicken into a baking dish and pour the garlic cream sauce over the top.
Step 6 – Add the cheese topping
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan evenly over the chicken.
Step 7 – Bake the dish
Bake in the oven for about 18–20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese melts.
Step 8 – Broil briefly
Broil for 2–3 minutes to create a lightly golden cheese crust.
Step 9 – Rest briefly
Allow the chicken to rest for about 3 minutes so the sauce thickens slightly.
Step 10 – Garnish and serve
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish and serve while the cheese remains melted.
