Chocolate Cake Layers

2 cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1¾ cups granulated sugar

½ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup hot water or strong coffee
Oreo Buttercream Frosting

1½ cups unsalted butter (room temp)

3½ cups powdered sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract
-
3–4 tbsp heavy cream or milk

¾ cup crushed Oreos (without the filling)
Matcha White Chocolate Drip

1 cup white chocolate chips
-
¼ cup heavy cream
-
2 tsp matcha powder (sifted)

Light green whipped buttercream swirls

1οΈβ£ Bake the Chocolate Cake Layers

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line 2 or 3 cake pans.

In one bowl: whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl: beat sugar, oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.

Add dry mixture to wet and stir. Then mix in hot water or coffee – batter will be thin.

Divide into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
2οΈβ£ Make the Oreo Buttercream

Beat butter until light and creamy.

Gradually add powdered sugar.

Mix in vanilla and 3 tbsp cream (add more if needed for consistency).

Fold in finely crushed Oreos. Set aside.
3οΈβ£ Make the Matcha Drip

Heat cream until steaming (not boiling).

Pour over white chocolate chips and let sit 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.

Whisk in sifted matcha powder until evenly green and glossy.

Let cool slightly before applying to chilled cake.
4οΈβ£ Assemble the Cake

Stack cake layers with Oreo buttercream in between.

Smoothly frost the entire cake with a layer of Oreo buttercream.

Chill the frosted cake in the fridge for 20 minutes before adding drip.

Pour matcha drip carefully around the top edge and let it naturally drip down the sides.

Pipe light green buttercream swirls on top.

Add whole Oreos, mini Oreos, and sprinkle with Oreo crumbs for texture and drama.
