Taco Bell Nacho Fries Recipe

Ingredients You’ll Need

Serves 4–6

For the Fries:

  • 4 large russet potatoes , cut into fry shapes (or 1 large bag frozen fries)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Taco Bell-inspired seasoning (see blend below)
  • Salt , to taste

Taco Seasoning Blend:

  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole (optional)
  • Jalapeños , sliced (optional, for heat)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Fries

  1. If using fresh potatoes: Cut the potatoes into fry shapes and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Toss the fries (fresh or frozen) with olive oil and the Taco Bell-inspired seasoning blend. Spread them evenly on the baking sheet in a single layer.

Step 2: Bake the Fries

  1. Bake the fries for 20–25 minutes , flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Step 3: Add the Cheese

  1. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the hot fries. Return the baking sheet to the oven for 2–3 minutes , or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 4: Assemble the Nacho Fries

  1. Drizzle the nacho cheese sauce generously over the cheesy fries.
  2. Top with diced tomatoes, onions, black olives, jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole (if using).

Step 5: Serve

  1. Serve immediately while hot and gooey. Enjoy with extra nacho cheese sauce or salsa on the side for dipping.
