
π Original KFC-Style Fried Chicken Recipe π

Ingredients:

8 chicken drumsticks

500ml milk
-
300g flour
-
1 tablespoon of spices (your choice): oregano, paprika, curry, onion powder, garlic powder

+½ teaspoon of the same spices above + 100g flour (for coating)

Salt and pepper

Oil for frying
Instructions:

Make the tempura batter:
To prepare this KFC-style fried chicken, start by making the batter. In a wide bowl, mix 300g of flour with 1 tablespoon of each selected spice and a generous pinch of salt. It may seem like a lot of spices, but that's the secret to getting that iconic flavor. Once mixed, pour in 350–400ml of milk (amount may vary depending on the flour brand). Whisk until the batter is thick but smooth. You’ll know the texture is right if it clings to the whisk but quickly drips off. -
Marinate the chicken:
Season the chicken drumsticks with salt and pepper, then submerge them in the batter, coating well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. The longer the marination, the better the flavor. -
Prepare the outer coating:
In a separate plate, combine 100g flour with ½ teaspoon of each of the same spices used in the batter. Mix thoroughly. -
Coat and fry the chicken:
Remove the chicken from the fridge. Without removing too much of the batter, roll the drumsticks in the seasoned flour mix until fully coated.
Heat olive oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat (around level 7 on a 9-point scale). Fry the chicken for about 10 minutes, or until golden and fully cooked.
