
๐ฎ Classic Caramel Flan Recipe (Crรจme Caramel)

Smooth, creamy, and rich — flan is a timeless dessert that melts in your mouth and is perfect on its own or paired with ice cream or fruit layers!
โ Ingredients:
For the caramel:

½ cup (100g) sugar

2 tablespoons water
For the custard:

4 large eggs
-
1 can (14 oz / 400g) sweetened condensed milk
-
1 can (12 oz / 350ml) evaporated milk
-
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
โ Instructions:
1. Make the Caramel:

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water.

Let it melt and simmer without stirring until it turns a deep amber color (about 5–7 minutes).

Quickly pour the caramel into ramekins or a mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Let it set.
2. Prepare the Custard:

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Pour the custard mixture over the set caramel in each mold.
3. Bake:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

Place the flan molds in a baking dish filled halfway with hot water (water bath).

Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
4. Cool and Unmold:

Let the flan cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
