๐Ÿฎ Classic Caramel Flan Recipe (Crรจme Caramel)

Smooth, creamy, and rich — flan is a timeless dessert that melts in your mouth and is perfect on its own or paired with ice cream or fruit layers!


โœ… Ingredients:

For the caramel:

  • ½ cup (100g) sugar

  • 2 tablespoons water

For the custard:

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 can (14 oz / 400g) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 can (12 oz / 350ml) evaporated milk

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract


โœ… Instructions:

1. Make the Caramel:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water.

  • Let it melt and simmer without stirring until it turns a deep amber color (about 5–7 minutes).

  • Quickly pour the caramel into ramekins or a mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Let it set.

2. Prepare the Custard:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Pour the custard mixture over the set caramel in each mold.

3. Bake:

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

  • Place the flan molds in a baking dish filled halfway with hot water (water bath).

  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

4. Cool and Unmold:

  • Let the flan cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  • To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
