Sweet and Spicy Fried Pork Ribs


Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (about 2.2 lb) pork ribs (cut into small pieces)

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine or cooking wine (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to your spice preference)

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • Oil for deep frying

Optional Garnish:

  • Parsley flakes

  • Extra chili flakes

  • Sesame seeds


Instructions:

  1. Clean the pork ribs and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. In a large bowl, season ribs with salt, black pepper, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cooking wine.

  3. Massage the seasoning into the ribs well. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best flavor).

  1. Mix flour and cornstarch in a shallow dish.

  2. Dredge each rib piece in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.

  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).

  4. Fry the ribs in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5–7 minutes per batch.

  5. Drain on paper towels.

  1. In a separate pan, add a little oil.

  2. Add honey and chili flakes, stir for about 30 seconds over low heat.

  3. Toss the fried ribs into the sauce until they are evenly coated.
