Grilled Beef Kebabs with Vegetables

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Beef:

  • 700g (1.5 lbs) beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into 1½-inch cubes

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon cumin (optional)

For the Vegetables:

  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks

  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks

  • 1 large onion, cut into squares

Optional Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Step 1: Marinate the Beef

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and cumin.

  2. Add beef cubes and toss well to coat.

  3. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).


Step 2: Prepare Skewers

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes.

  2. Thread beef cubes, bell peppers, and onion alternately onto skewers.


Step 3: Grill

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Lightly oil the grill grates.

  3. Grill skewers for 8–12 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes, until nicely charred and cooked to your preferred doneness:

    • Medium-rare: 63°C (145°F)

    • Medium: 71°C (160°F)


Step 4: Finish and Serve

  1. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley (optional).

  2. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  3. Serve hot with rice, salad, or flatbread.


Tips for Perfect Kebabs

  • Do not overcrowd the skewers to ensure even cooking.

  • Cut beef pieces evenly for uniform grilling.

  • You can also cook these in the oven at 220°C (425°F) for 15–20 minutes.
