Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli Stir-Fry

500g (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

1 small onion, cut into wedges

1 red bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Stir-Fry Sauce:
-
3 tablespoons soy sauce
-
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
-
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon sesame oil
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
-
1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)

Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp

Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.

Lightly season with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Blanch the Broccoli (Optional but Recommended)

Boil water in a pot.
-
Add broccoli and cook for 1–2 minutes.

Remove and place in cold water to keep bright green. Drain well.
Step 3: Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, black pepper, and broth.

Stir well and set aside.
Step 4: Stir-Fry

Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.

Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add garlic and ginger; sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

Add onion and red bell pepper; stir-fry 2–3 minutes.
-
Add broccoli and toss well.

Return shrimp to the pan.
Step 5: Add Sauce

Pour in the prepared sauce.

Add cornstarch slurry.
-
Stir and cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything.
