Garlic Butter Baked Lobster Tails

Baked Lobster Tail Recipe
Garlic Butter Baked Lobster Tails

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 lobster tails (6–8 oz each), thawed if frozen

  • 100 g (7 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted

  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional, but recommended)

  • 1 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Preparation

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails
Using kitchen scissors, cut down the center of the shell lengthwise to the tail, without cutting the meat. Gently loosen the meat from the shell and lift it so it rests on top, keeping it attached at the base.

  2. Make the Garlic Butter
In a bowl, combine melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully blended.

Cooking Instructions
Broiled Lobster Tails - Chef Lorious

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with foil.

  2. Season the Lobster
Arrange lobster tails in the dish. Spoon the garlic butter generously over the meat, making sure it seeps into the shell as well.

  3. Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on size, until the meat is opaque, tender, and reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F (60–63°C).

  4. Optional Broil (For Extra Color)
Switch to broil for 1–2 minutes at the end to achieve a lightly caramelized, golden surface. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Finish & Serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra melted butter on the side.

  • Best paired with steak, rice, mashed potatoes, or grilled vegetables.

Result

The lobster tails are buttery, juicy, and sweet, infused with garlic and citrus, with a beautifully golden finish—restaurant-quality and surprisingly easy to make at home.
