Cook Time

25–30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 300 g beef steak (sirloin or chuck), cut into bite-sized cubes

  • 400 g baby potatoes, washed and cut into halves or quarters

  • 200 g green beans, trimmed

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook for 8–10 minutes until just fork-tender. Drain well and set aside. This step helps the potatoes cook evenly and develop a crispy exterior later.

Step 2: Sear the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes in a single layer. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Avoid overcrowding the pan. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2 minutes until translucent. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the parboiled potatoes and green beans. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes turn golden and the green beans are tender but still vibrant.

Step 4: Combine Everything

Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce) and beef broth. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until the sauce slightly reduces and the beef is fully cooked but still juicy.

Step 5: Finish and Serve

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Serve hot directly from the skillet.
