Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • Β½ cup cornstarch

  • Β½ tsp garlic powder

  • Β½ tsp paprika

  • Β½ tsp salt

  • ΒΌ tsp black pepper

  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • Β½ cup mayonnaise

  • ΒΌ cup sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp lime juice

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

  • Red chili flakes

  • Green onions, sliced

Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Shrimp

  1. Place shrimp in a bowl with buttermilk.

  2. Let sit for 15–20 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the Coating

In a shallow bowl combine:

  • Panko breadcrumbs

  • Cornstarch

  • Garlic powder

  • Paprika

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

Step 3: Coat the Shrimp

  1. Remove shrimp from buttermilk.

  2. Dredge each shrimp in the breadcrumb mixture.

  3. Press gently to ensure an even coating.

Step 4: Fry

  1. Heat oil to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  2. Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Step 5: Make the Sauce

Whisk together:

  • Mayonnaise

  • Sweet chili sauce

  • Sriracha

  • Honey

  • Lime juice

Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 6: Assemble

  1. Arrange crispy shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. Drizzle generously with Bang Bang sauce.

  3. Sprinkle with parsley, green onions, and chili flakes.
