
Chicken Cordon Bleu with Swiss Cheese Sauce ππ§π½οΈ
A creamy, crunchy, and elegant dish perfect for special dinners or any time you want to impress!
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
4 slices of ham
-
4 slices of Swiss cheese
-
½ cup flour
-
2 eggs, beaten
-
1 cup breadcrumbs
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Toothpicks (to hold the rolls together)
-
Cooking oil or butter for pan-frying
For the Swiss Cheese Sauce:
-
4 tablespoons butter
-
1 tablespoon flour
-
1 cup milk
-
½ cup grated Swiss cheese (or more, to taste)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken Rolls:
-
Flatten the chicken breasts using a meat mallet until about 1/2-inch thick.

Season both sides with salt and pepper.
-
Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.
-
Roll the chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks.
2. Coat the Chicken:
-
Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

Set aside on a plate.
3. Cook the Chicken:
-
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
-
Sear each chicken roll on all sides until golden brown (about 2–3 minutes per side).

Transfer to a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until cooked through.
4. Make the Swiss Cheese Sauce:
-
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
-
Add 1 tablespoon of flour and whisk until smooth (about 1 minute).

Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly.
-
Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Once the sauce thickens, stir in the grated Swiss cheese until melted and smooth.
5. Serve:
-
Remove the toothpicks from the chicken rolls.

Slice into rounds or serve whole.

Pour the warm Swiss cheese sauce generously over the top.

Serve with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
