A creamy, crunchy, and elegant dish perfect for special dinners or any time you want to impress!

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 4 slices of ham

  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese

  • ½ cup flour

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Toothpicks (to hold the rolls together)

  • Cooking oil or butter for pan-frying

For the Swiss Cheese Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup grated Swiss cheese (or more, to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chicken Rolls:

  • Flatten the chicken breasts using a meat mallet until about 1/2-inch thick.

  • Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  • Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.

  • Roll the chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks.

2. Coat the Chicken:

  • Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  • Set aside on a plate.

3. Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Sear each chicken roll on all sides until golden brown (about 2–3 minutes per side).

  • Transfer to a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until cooked through.

4. Make the Swiss Cheese Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  • Add 1 tablespoon of flour and whisk until smooth (about 1 minute).

  • Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly.

  • Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Once the sauce thickens, stir in the grated Swiss cheese until melted and smooth.

5. Serve:

  • Remove the toothpicks from the chicken rolls.

  • Slice into rounds or serve whole.

  • Pour the warm Swiss cheese sauce generously over the top.

  • Serve with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
