OVEN-ROASTED WHOLE CHICKEN ๐Ÿ˜‹

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (1.5 kg / about 3.3 lbs), giblets removed

  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder, or to taste

  • ½ cup margarine

  • 1 celery stalk, leaves removed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Place the chicken in a baking dish or roasting pan. Generously season the inside and outside with salt and pepper. Sprinkle onion powder all over the chicken, both inside and out. Place 3 tablespoons of margarine inside the cavity of the chicken, and spread the remaining margarine in small pieces over the skin. Cut the celery stalk into 3 or 4 pieces and insert them into the cavity.

  3. Roast uncovered in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked. Remove from the oven and baste it with the melted margarine. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 30 minutes before carving and serving.
