Garlic Butter Baked Crab Claws

Ingredients

Crab

  • 1 kg (2 lb) large crab claws (stone crab or king crab)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 100 g (7 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)

Step 1 – Prepare Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C / 400°F.

  2. Lightly grease a baking dish.


Step 2 – Arrange Crab Claws

  1. Place crab claws in the baking dish.

  2. Season lightly with salt and pepper.


Step 3 – Make Garlic Butter Mixture

  1. In a bowl mix melted butter, garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, lemon juice, paprika, and chili flakes.

  2. Stir until combined.


Step 4 – Bake

  1. Spoon the garlic butter mixture generously over each crab claw.

  2. Bake for 12–15 minutes until bubbling and golden.


Step 5 – Broil for Finish

  1. Broil for 2–3 minutes to get a crispy golden crust.


Step 6 – Serve

Serve hot with lemon wedges and crusty bread.


Tips

  • Do not overbake to keep crab meat juicy.

  • Add white wine to butter for extra flavor.
