Ingredients
For the Mozzarella Sticks

12–14 mozzarella string cheese sticks (or cut mozzarella into sticks)

1 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs
-
2 tbsp milk
-
1 ½ cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
-
½ cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp paprika (optional)
-
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
For Serving
-
Marinara sauce or ketchup
-
Fresh parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Cheese

Unwrap mozzarella sticks.
-
Place them on a tray and freeze for at least 1–2 hours.
This step prevents the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
Step 2 – Prepare Breading Station
Set up 3 bowls:
-
Flour Bowl:
Add flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika. -
Egg Wash:
Whisk eggs with milk until smooth. -
Breadcrumb Mix:
Combine Italian breadcrumbs and panko.
Step 3 – Bread the Mozzarella

Roll each frozen cheese stick in flour.

Dip into egg mixture.

Coat in breadcrumbs.

Repeat egg + breadcrumbs once more (double coating = no cheese leaks).

Place coated sticks back in freezer for 30–45 minutes.
Step 4 – Fry

Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C / 350°F.

Fry mozzarella sticks in small batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.

Remove and drain on paper towels.
⚠️ Do not overcrowd the pan or fry too long — cheese may burst.
Step 5 – Serve

Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Serve hot with warm marinara sauce or ketchup.

Enjoy immediately while the cheese is stretchy and melty.
Tips for Perfect Mozzarella Sticks

Always fry from frozen for best results.

Double coating prevents cheese from leaking.

Air fryer option: cook at 200°C / 390°F for 6–8 minutes.
