Garlic Broccoli & Shimeji Mushroom Stir-Fry

Servings

2–3 servings


Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

  • 150 g shimeji mushrooms (white or brown), root trimmed

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 red chilies, sliced (optional)

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp white pepper

  • 2 tbsp water or vegetable broth

  • 1 tsp sesame oil


Instructions

1. Blanch the Broccoli

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil.

  • Add broccoli and blanch for 1–2 minutes until bright green.

  • Drain and set aside.


2. Stir-Fry Aromatics

  • Heat oil in a wok/pan over medium-high heat.

  • Add garlic and sliced chilies.

  • Stir-fry 30 seconds until fragrant.


3. Cook the Mushrooms

  • Add shimeji mushrooms and stir-fry 2–3 minutes until slightly tender.


4. Add Broccoli & Sauce

  • Add blanched broccoli to the pan.

  • Pour in the sauce mixture.

  • Toss everything together for 2–3 minutes until well coated and glossy.


5. Finish & Serve

  • Drizzle sesame oil.

  • Serve hot with steamed rice.


Tips

  • Do not overcook broccoli to keep it crisp and bright green.

  • Add tofu or shrimp for extra protein.
