Creamy Garlic Mushroom Chicken with Pasta

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless chicken thighs or breasts

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

Sauce

  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

Pasta

  • 8 oz (225 g) fettuccine or spaghetti

Garnish

  • Fresh thyme or parsley

  • Extra Parmesan cheese


Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions.

  3. Drain and set aside.


2. Sear the Chicken

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Cook chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

  4. Remove chicken and set aside.


3. Cook the Mushrooms

  1. In the same pan add sliced mushrooms.

  2. Cook 4–5 minutes until browned.

  3. Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds.


4. Make the Cream Sauce

Add to the pan:

  • chicken broth

  • heavy cream

  • Italian seasoning

  • Dijon mustard

Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thick.


5. Add Cheese

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.


6. Combine Everything

  1. Return chicken to the pan.

  2. Add cooked pasta and toss gently in the sauce.

  3. Simmer 2 minutes so flavors combine.


7. Garnish

Top with:

  • fresh thyme or parsley

  • extra Parmesan


Result:
Tender golden chicken with creamy garlic mushroom sauce coating perfectly cooked pasta — a rich restaurant-style comfort meal.
