Ingredients
For the Dough

3 cups (375 g) bread flour

2¼ tsp instant yeast

3 tbsp granulated sugar

¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk

1 large egg

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

½ tsp salt

1 tsp blueberry powder (optional, for color)
For the Blueberry Filling

2 cups (300 g) fresh or frozen blueberries

⅓ cup (65 g) sugar

1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1 tbsp cornstarch
-
2 tbsp water
For Decoration

Instructions
Step 1 – Make the Blueberry Filling

Add blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan.

Cook over medium heat until berries burst.

Mix cornstarch and water.

Stir into blueberries.

Cook until thick and jam-like.

Cool completely.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 2 – Prepare the Dough

Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.

Let stand for 5 minutes.

Add flour, egg, salt, butter, and blueberry powder.

Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.

Place in a greased bowl.

Step 3 – Shape the Buns

Divide dough into 12 equal portions.

Flatten each piece into a circle.

Place 1 tablespoon chilled blueberry filling in the center.

Seal tightly and roll into smooth balls.

Arrange on parchment paper squares.
Step 4 – Final Rise

Cover loosely.

Let rise for 30 minutes.
Step 5 – Steam

Bring water to a gentle boil.

Place buns in a steamer basket.
-
Steam for 12–15 minutes.

Turn off heat and leave covered for 3 minutes before opening.
Step 6 – Decorate

Use melted chocolate to attach a blueberry on top of each bun.

Add a small chocolate star around the blueberry stem area to mimic real blueberries.
