Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. In a bowl, toss the halved potatoes with melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  3. Spread them evenly on a baking tray.

  4. Roast for 30–40 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and crispy on the outside while tender inside.

Step 2: Cook the Steak

  1. Remove steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.

  2. Pat dry and season generously with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

  4. Sear the steaks for about 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time based on thickness and preferred doneness).

  5. Add butter, smashed garlic, and rosemary or thyme during the last 2 minutes.

  6. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks repeatedly to enhance flavor.

  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Step 3: Cook the Shrimp

  1. Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

  4. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

  5. Add butter and lemon juice, stirring gently to coat.

  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.

Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery.

Plating

Arrange the roasted garlic butter potatoes on a serving plate.
Slice the rested steak against the grain and place alongside the potatoes.
Top or side the steak with the sautéed shrimp.
Drizzle any remaining garlic butter from the pan over the dish for extra richness.

Tips for Perfect Results

  • Use high-quality steak for best flavor and tenderness.

  • Allow the steak to rest before slicing to retain juices.

  • Pat shrimp dry before cooking to achieve a better sear.

  • For extra richness, add a splash of white wine to the shrimp while cooking.

Serving Suggestions
