📝 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

For the shrimp:

  • 16–20 large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on)

  • 8–10 slices bacon (cut in half)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • ¼ teaspoon salt (optional, bacon is salty)

For the Honey Garlic Glaze:

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar or lemon juice

  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional for heat)

Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds

  • Chopped green onions

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.

  2. Season lightly with pepper and paprika.

  3. Wrap each shrimp tightly with half a slice of bacon.

  4. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

2️⃣ Pre-Cook the Bacon (Important Tip)

To ensure crispy bacon:

  • Lightly cook bacon slices in a pan for 3–4 minutes first (not fully crispy).

  • This prevents overcooking the shrimp later.

3️⃣ Cook the Shrimp

Option A – Pan-Seared (Best Flavor)

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Place shrimp seam-side down.

  3. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until bacon is crispy and shrimp turns pink.

Option B – Oven Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place shrimp on a lined baking sheet.

  3. Bake 12–15 minutes.

  4. Broil for 2–3 minutes to crisp bacon.

4️⃣ Make the Honey Garlic Glaze

  1. In a small saucepan, sauté garlic (and ginger if using) for 30 seconds.

  2. Add honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and vinegar.

  3. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. If you want it thicker, mix ½ teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and add in.

5️⃣ Glaze & Finish

  1. Brush or drizzle glaze over cooked shrimp.

  2. Let cook 1–2 more minutes until glossy and caramelized.

  3. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
