Crispy Crock Pot French Onion Beef Meatballs

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb frozen beef meatballs (or homemade)

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup

  • 1 (1 oz) packet dry onion soup mix

  • ½ cup beef broth

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Crispy Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyère cheese

  • ¼ cup crispy fried onions (for crunch!)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (for extra depth)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Dump & Cook

  • Place frozen meatballs in the crockpot.

  • In a bowl, whisk together French onion soup, dry soup mix, beef broth, Worcestershire, garlic powder, and pepper. Pour over meatballs.

  • (Optional: Add mushrooms if using.)

  • Cover and cook on LOW 4-5 hours or HIGH 2-3 hours.

2. Crisp & Melt (Game-Changer Step!)

  • Preheat broiler.

  • Transfer meatballs and gravy to an oven-safe dish.

  • Top with cheese and fried onions.

  • Broil 2-3 minutes until bubbly and golden.

3. Serve & Devour!

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

  • Serve over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or crusty bread to soak up the gravy!
