Asian Beef Stir-Fry with Vegetables

Ingredients

Beef

  • 500 g beef sirloin or ribeye, cut into bite-sized cubes

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Vegetables

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 carrot, sliced

  • 1 bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 small potato, diced and parboiled

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 green onions, chopped

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 tsp brown sugar

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ cup beef broth or water

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Cooking

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Garnish

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds


Instructions

1. Prepare the Beef

In a bowl, mix beef with:

  • salt

  • black pepper

  • cornstarch

Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.


2. Cook the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.

Add beef cubes and sear for 2–3 minutes until browned.

Remove and set aside.


3. Cook the Vegetables

Add remaining oil.

Stir-fry:

  • garlic

  • broccoli

  • carrots

  • bell peppers

  • potatoes

Cook 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.


4. Add the Sauce

Mix sauce ingredients together.

Pour into the pan and bring to a simmer.

The sauce will begin to thicken.


5. Combine Everything

Return beef to the pan.

Toss well for 2–3 minutes until the beef is fully coated and cooked through.

Drizzle with sesame oil.


6. Serve

Garnish with:

  • sesame seeds

  • green onions

Serve hot with:

  • steamed rice

  • noodles
