Orange-Glazed Baked Chicken Thighs
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for 4–5 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step 2: Make the Orange Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, orange zest, honey, soy sauce, garlic, thyme, and smoked paprika.
Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
Pour the orange glaze over the chicken thighs, coating them evenly.
Transfer the skillet (or move chicken to a baking dish) to the oven.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, basting once or twice, until the chicken is fully cooked and the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with fresh herbs and orange slices. Spoon extra sauce over the chicken before serving.
Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes
Pair with a fresh green salad for balance
Great for weeknight dinners or casual entertaining
Bone-in thighs stay juicier and more flavorful
If the glaze darkens too quickly, loosely cover with foil
For extra citrus flavor, add a splash of lemon juice
