Teriyaki Surf and Turf Stir-Fry

Ingredients

Proteins

  • 200 g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 200 g shrimp, peeled and deveined

Vegetables

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce

  • ⅓ cup teriyaki sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Optional Garnish

  • Sesame seeds

  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

1.  Prepare the Proteins

Pat the beef and shrimp dry. Lightly season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

2.  Cook the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

Add the beef slices and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender.

Remove from the pan and set aside.

3.  Cook the Shrimp

Add the remaining oil to the same pan.

Add shrimp and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through.

Remove and set aside with the beef.

4.  Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same pan, add garlic and onion. Sauté briefly until fragrant.

Add broccoli and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.

5.  Make the Sauce

Lower the heat slightly. Add teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and cornstarch mixture.

Stir and let the sauce simmer until thickened.

6.  Combine Everything

Return the beef and shrimp to the pan.

Toss gently to coat evenly in the sauce and heat through for 1–2 minutes.

7.  Serve

Remove from heat and garnish if desired.

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
