
Shrimp and Sausage Pasta π€ππ

Ingredients:
-
1 lb penne pasta (or your favorite pasta)
-
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
2 smoked sausages, sliced (or use Andouille for a spicier flavor)
-
1 green bell pepper, sliced
-
1 red bell pepper, sliced
-
1 medium onion, sliced
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
π Cook the Pasta:
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
-
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
-
Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
π€ Cook the Shrimp and Sausage:
-
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat.
-
Season the shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Sauté shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil.
-
Add the sliced sausages and cook until browned on both sides (about 5 minutes). Remove and set aside with the shrimp.
π₯ Cook the Vegetables:

Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the same skillet.
-
Sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
-
Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
π§ Make the Creamy Sauce:

Lower the heat to medium-low.
-
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the vegetables.
-
Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring until melted and creamy.
-
Season with cayenne pepper (if using) and adjust salt and pepper to taste.
-
Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
π₯ Bring it All Together:

Add cooked pasta into the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
-
Gently fold in the shrimp and sausage.
-
Heat through for 2–3 minutes until everything is warmed.
π Garnish and Serve:
-
Top with fresh parsley.
-
Optionally sprinkle more Parmesan cheese on top.

Serve hot!

Want extra flavor? Add a few shakes of Cajun seasoning!

Substitute the mozzarella with Monterey Jack or pepper jack for more spice.

Works great with fettuccine, linguine, or rotini too!
