Purple Blueberry Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp ube puree or blueberry puree (for purple color)

  • Purple food coloring (optional)


Filling

  • ½ cup blueberry jam or blueberry compote


Coating

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar


Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.

  3. Stir in ube or blueberry puree.

  4. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually combine with the wet ingredients.


2. Chill

Cover dough and refrigerate for 45–60 minutes to firm up.


3. Shape the Cookies

  1. Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of dough.

  2. Flatten slightly and add ½ teaspoon blueberry jam in the center.

  3. Seal the dough around the filling and roll into a ball.


4. Coat

Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar to create the crinkle effect.


5. Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).

  2. Place cookies on a lined baking tray.

  3. Bake 10–12 minutes until cracked on top.


6. Cool

Let cookies cool for 10 minutes so the filling sets slightly.


Result:

  • Soft, chewy purple cookies

  • Beautiful crinkle texture

  • Warm gooey blueberry center
