Korean Spicy Chili Crab (Gochujang Crab)

Ingredients

  • 2–3 whole fresh crab, cleaned and cut into pieces

  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 green chili, sliced

  • 1 red chili, sliced

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 green onions, chopped


Instructions

1. Prepare the Crab

  1. Clean the crab thoroughly.

  2. Cut it into medium pieces so the sauce can coat the meat well.


2. Make the Sauce

In a bowl combine:

  • gochujang

  • gochugaru

  • soy sauce

  • rice vinegar

  • honey

  • sesame oil

Mix until smooth.


3. Cook the Aromatics

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or pan.

  2. Add garlic and ginger and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).


4. Cook the Crab

  1. Add crab pieces and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes.

  2. Pour in the chili sauce and toss to coat evenly.

  3. Add sliced chilies and cook another 4–5 minutes until the crab is fully cooked.


5. Finish

Sprinkle with:

  • sesame seeds

  • chopped green onions

Serve hot.

  • Perfect with steamed rice.
