Crispy Fried Dumplings with Sweet Chili Soy Sauce

INGREDIENTS
For the Dumpling Filling

250 g ground chicken or pork
-
1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage (or green cabbage)
-
2 green onions, finely chopped
-
1 tsp minced garlic
-
1 tsp grated ginger
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
½ tsp sugar
-
¼ tsp black pepper
For Wrapping
-
20–25 dumpling wrappers
-
Water (for sealing edges)
For Frying
-
Vegetable oil (enough for shallow frying)
SWEET CHILI SOY SAUCE
-
3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tsp sugar (optional, to taste)
CREAMY DRIZZLE
-
¼ cup mayonnaise
-
1–2 tbsp water or milk (to thin)
GARNISH
-
Chopped green onions
-
Optional: sesame seeds
INSTRUCTIONS

1. Make the Filling
In a bowl, combine ground meat, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper.
Mix well until slightly sticky.
2. Assemble the Dumplings

Place a dumpling wrapper on your palm

Add 1 tablespoon filling in the center

Moisten edges with water
-
Fold into a half-moon and press firmly to seal
Repeat until all filling is used.
3. Fry the Dumplings

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat

Fry dumplings in batches until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side
-
Remove and drain on paper towels
4. Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar.
Simmer on low heat for 2–3 minutes until glossy.
5. Make the Creamy Drizzle
Mix mayonnaise with water or milk until smooth and pourable.
6. Assemble & Serve

Arrange dumplings on a plate

Spoon sweet chili soy sauce underneath or over the dumplings
-
Drizzle mayonnaise on top
-
Garnish with green onions (and sesame seeds if using)
Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
