Ingredients

For the Burrata

  • 2 balls fresh burrata cheese (4 oz / 125 g each)

  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

For the Balsamic Strawberries

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

  • Pinch of sea salt

For the Toasted Pecans

  • ½ cup pecan halves

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp maple syrup (optional)

  • Pinch of sea salt

For Garnish

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Fresh basil, thinly sliced (optional)

  • Extra balsamic glaze

  • Extra honey for drizzling

  • Fresh cracked black pepper

Instructions

Step 1 – Toast the Pecans

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Melt the butter and add the pecans.

  3. Toast for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently.

  4. Add maple syrup and a pinch of sea salt during the final minute.

  5. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

Step 2 – Prepare the Balsamic Strawberries

  1. In a skillet, combine:

    • Balsamic vinegar

    • Honey

    • Brown sugar

    • Vanilla extract

    • Lemon juice

  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly syrupy.

  4. Add the strawberries and gently toss for 1–2 minutes, just until lightly softened but still holding their shape.

  5. Remove from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

Step 3 – Plate the Burrata

  1. Place the burrata balls in the center of a shallow serving bowl or plate.

  2. Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Step 4 – Assemble

  1. Spoon the warm balsamic strawberries around and over the burrata.

  2. Scatter the toasted pecans over the top.

  3. Drizzle with any remaining balsamic glaze from the pan.

  4. Add a light drizzle of honey.

  5. Sprinkle with chopped fresh mint and optional basil.

Step 5 – Finish

  1. Garnish each burrata with whole mint sprigs.

  2. Add an extra crack of black pepper for contrast.

  3. Serve immediately while the strawberries are slightly warm.
