Honey Garlic Chicken Skillet – Golden Chicken with a Rich Honey Garlic Glaze
Honey Garlic Chicken Skillet focuses on caramelization and glossy sauce. When chicken is seared properly, it develops a golden surface that holds onto the glaze while remaining tender inside.
The sauce is made from honey, garlic, and soy sauce. As it simmers in the skillet, the honey thickens slightly and coats the chicken with a glossy finish. Garlic adds depth while soy sauce balances the sweetness.
The result is a flavorful dish with strong color contrast and a rich glaze that makes the chicken visually striking.
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
2 large chicken breasts, sliced into cutlets
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the honey garlic glaze
3 tablespoons honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
½ teaspoon black pepper
Fresh parsley, chopped
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1 – Prepare the chicken
Pat the chicken cutlets dry using paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 2 – Heat the skillet
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Allow the oil to heat until it begins to shimmer.
Step 3 – Sear the chicken
Add the chicken cutlets to the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes on the first side until a golden crust forms.
Step 4 – Flip and finish cooking
Turn the chicken and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes until fully cooked. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
Step 5 – Build the glaze base
Reduce the heat slightly and add butter to the skillet. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 20 seconds until fragrant.
Step 6 – Add honey and soy sauce
Pour in honey and soy sauce. Stir gently to combine the sauce ingredients.
Step 7 – Reduce the glaze
Allow the sauce to simmer for about 1–2 minutes until it thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
Step 8 – Coat the chicken
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the glaze over each piece until evenly coated.![]()
Step 9 – Garnish and serve
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the chicken and serve immediately while the glaze is warm.
