Chocolate Caramel Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups mini pretzels, crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Directions:
  • Prepare the Pretzel Layer:
  • In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/2 cup of the peanut butter. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a lined 9x9-inch pan to form a firm crust.
  • Make the Peanut Butter Layer:
  • In a separate bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup peanut butter with the powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Spread this mixture evenly over the pretzel crust.
  • Prepare the Caramel Layer:
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and melted.
  • Pour the caramel over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Add the Chocolate Topping:
  • Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread it evenly.
  • Chill and Serve:
  • Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours, or until set.
  • Once firm, cut into squares and serve!
