Ingredients

For the Breadsticks:

  • 1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade pizza dough)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or cheddar, if you prefer)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

For the Philly Cheesesteak Filling:

  • 1 lb ribeye steak (or flank steak), thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional, for added flavor)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, for extra flavor)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for smoky flavor)

 Instructions

1. Prepare the Philly Cheesesteak Filling:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add the onionbell pepper (if using), and garlic, and sauté until softened (about 4-5 minutes).

  3. Add the sliced ribeye steak to the skillet, cooking for 2-3 minutes, until the steak is browned but still tender.

  4. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and cook for another minute.

  5. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

2. Prepare the Breadsticks:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle (about 12×10 inches).

  3. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Spoon the cheesesteak filling evenly over the cheese, spreading it out across the dough.

  5. Top with the remaining provolone cheese.

  6. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, creating a long stuffed breadstick. Pinch the edges to seal.

  7. Brush the top with olive oil or an egg wash (whisked egg with a little water), for a golden finish.

3. Bake the Breadsticks:

  1. Slice the stuffed dough into individual breadsticks (about 1-inch wide pieces).

  2. Arrange the breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on top.

4. Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Let the cheesy breadsticks cool for a couple of minutes, then serve warm.

  2. Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.

 Serving Ideas:

  • Pair with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

  • Make a fun game day snack or party appetizer by slicing the breadsticks into smaller pieces.

  • For a spicy twist, add jalapeños to the Philly cheesesteak filling.

Pro Tip: For an extra cheesy experience, sprinkle a little more mozzarella on top of the breadsticks before baking. You can also make these with chicken or vegetarian options by using mushrooms and peppers as the filling.
