🍰 Rich & Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup (240ml) hot coffee or hot water

  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk

  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar

  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • ¾ cup (180ml) heavy cream

  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • Optional: chocolate curls or shavings, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare the Pan
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Generously grease and flour a bundt pan to prevent sticking.

  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients
    In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the hot coffee (or water), buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. Add the Dry Ingredients
    Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
    Mix everything until the batter is smooth and fully incorporated. Note: The batter will be thin — this is normal.

  4. Bake the Cake
    Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
    Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

  5. Prepare the Ganache
    Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
    In a small saucepan, heat the cream just until it begins to simmer.
    Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 1 minute, then stir until silky smooth.

  6. Decorate the Cake
    Once the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the ganache over the top.
    Garnish with chocolate curls or shavings, if desired.
