Creamy Steak & Shrimp Pasta (Surf & Turf Pasta)

Ingredients
1. Pasta
- 250g (9 oz) fettuccine or tagliatelle
- Salt (for pasta water)
2. Steak
- 250g (9 oz) steak (ribeye, striploin, or sirloin)
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
3. Shrimp
- 200g (7 oz) shrimp (peeled & deveined)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt & pepper
4. Cream Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Salt & black pepper
5. Vegetables (optional but recommended)
- 1/2 cup bell peppers (sliced)
- Handful of spinach or herbs (parsley)
Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring salted water to a boil
- Cook pasta until al dente
- Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water
- Drain and set aside
Step 2: Cook the Steak
- Season steak generously
- Heat pan until very hot
- Add oil → sear steak 2–3 minutes per side
- Add butter and baste
- Rest 5–7 minutes
- Slice thinly against the grain
Step 3: Cook the Shrimp
- Melt butter in pan
- Add garlic → sauté briefly
- Add shrimp, season lightly
- Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink
- Remove immediately (avoid overcooking)
Step 4: Make the Cream Sauce
- In same pan, melt butter
- Add garlic → cook until fragrant
- Pour in heavy cream
- Simmer gently 3–4 minutes
- Add Parmesan → stir until smooth
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika
→ Sauce should be silky, not too thick
Step 5: Combine
- Add cooked pasta into sauce
- Toss well
- Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed
- Fold in bell peppers or greens
Step 6: Plate
- Twirl pasta onto plate
- Top with sliced steak
- Add shrimp on top
- Sprinkle parsley + extra Parmesan
