Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
For the apple filling

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the apples
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Place sliced apples in a bowl, add sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss gently and transfer to a baking dish.
2. Make the crumble topping
In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and oats (if using).
Rub cold butter into the mixture using your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Assemble
Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples. Do not press down—this keeps the topping light and crisp.
4. Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes until the topping is golden and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.
