  • 600 g potatoes, peeled and cubed

  • 40 g butter

  • 60 ml milk

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the mashed potatoes
Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain well, then mash with butter, milk, and salt until smooth. Set aside.

2. Cook the filling
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and carrot, cooking until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

3. Brown the meat
Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt and black pepper.

4. Build the sauce
Stir in tomato paste, then add stock and Worcestershire sauce. Add herbs if using. Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes until thickened.

5. Assemble
