🍯 Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Meatballs

🛒 Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

  • 500g (1 lb) ground chicken

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons water

Garnish:

  • Fresh chopped parsley or green onions

  • Sesame seeds (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Meatballs

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  2. Mix gently until just combined (do not overmix).

  3. Shape into small balls (about 1–1.5 inches).


2️⃣ Cook the Meatballs

Pan Method:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Cook meatballs for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 75°C / 165°F).

Oven Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Bake for 15–18 minutes until fully cooked.


3️⃣ Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar.

  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  3. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce.

  4. Cook 2–3 minutes until thickened.


4️⃣ Coat the Meatballs

  1. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce.

  2. Toss gently until fully coated and glossy.

  3. Simmer together for 2–3 minutes.


5️⃣ Garnish & Serve

  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley or green onions.

  • Serve hot over rice, noodles, or as party appetizers.

  • For extra spice, add chili flakes or sriracha.

  • You can substitute ground turkey if preferred.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
