Ingredients (Serves 2)

For the puff pastry:

  • 2 sheets or squares of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

For the seafood:

  • 6–8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6–8 sea scallops (side muscle removed)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

For the creamy garlic mushroom sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken or seafood stock
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

1. Prepare and bake the puff pastry

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Place puff pastry on a lined baking sheet

2. Sear the seafood

4. Assemble the dish

  • Place puff pastry on a serving plate
  • Spoon creamy mushroom sauce over the pastry
  • Arrange shrimp and scallops on top
