1 large onion, diced

4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 cup BBQ sauce
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
2 tbsp tomato paste
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
-
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
-
2 sprigs fresh thyme
-
1 bay leaf
For Garnish

Fresh chopped parsley

Freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Ribs

Pat the short ribs dry with paper towels.

Season all sides with:

Black pepper

Smoked paprika
-
Garlic powder
-
Onion powder
-
Step 2 – Sear

Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the ribs for 2–3 minutes per side until deeply browned.

Transfer to a plate.
Step 3 – Build the Sauce
In the same pot:

Cook onion for about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 4 – Braise

Add thyme and bay leaf.

Cover tightly.

Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 3 to 3½ hours, until the meat is fork-tender and nearly falling off the bone.
Step 5 – Finish

Remove the ribs carefully.

Simmer the sauce uncovered for 10–15 minutes until thick and glossy.

Brush or spoon the reduced sauce generously over the ribs.
