"HELP! POLICE! ASSAULT!" Karen bellowed, squeezing out dramatic, breathless sobs as she threw herself onto the marble floor. "THIS CRAZED STORE CLERK ATTACKED ME! HE ASSAULTED A VIP CUSTOMER AND DESTROYED THE SHOWROOM PIECE TO FRAME ME! CALL SECURITY AND THE STORE MANAGER RIGHT NOW!"

Before Karen could finish her theatrical screaming on the floor, the boutique’s heavy bronze-and-glass entrance doors swung wide open. In rushed Madame Genevieve, the Senior Vice President of Maison de Vance, accompanied by two boutique security officers and two city police officers who had been securing the perimeter for the evening’s VIP gala.

"What on earth is happening in this showroom?!" Madame Genevieve demanded, her eyes wide with shock.

The moment Karen spotted the executive, her hysterical wailing instantly morphed into a quivering, dry-sobbing performance. She scrambled off the floor and threw herself toward Madame Genevieve, clutching at her expensive tweed jacket.

"Genevieve! Thank heaven you're here!" Karen wailed, pointing a shaking, manicured finger at Julian. "This unhinged stock clerk barged into my private viewing, hurled vile insults at me, splashed red wine all over my clothes and that prototype, and then violently shoved me to the ground to frame me! Fire him immediately and have these officers drag him to jail!"

Madame Genevieve didn't look at Karen. Instead, her eyes landed on Julian, who was standing calmly by the stained velvet pillar, using a cloth to gently inspect the wine-stained leather of the $80,000 Aura bag. Madame Genevieve turned deathly pale. She shoved Karen’s hands off her jacket and bowed her head in deep, terrified respect.

"Mr. Vance!" Madame Genevieve stammered, her voice trembling in utter terror. "I am so extraordinarily sorry, sir! Are you hurt?!"

Karen’s fake sobbing stopped dead in its tracks. "M-Mr. Vance? Genevieve, are you out of your mind?! He's just a low-tier retail boy in a black turtleneck!"

"Silence!" Madame Genevieve snapped, turning on Karen with pure fury. "You are speaking to Julian Vance! He is the Founder, Lead Designer, and sole Owner of Maison de Vance! He hand-crafted that bag, owns this entire brand, and built every single store in this company!"

The color drained from Karen’s face so fast she looked like a corpse. Her jaw hung open in absolute, horrified silence.

"Furthermore," Julian said calmly, holding up his iPad screen for the police officers and store manager to see, "the showroom ceiling is equipped with hidden 4K ultra-HD cameras monitoring all high-value prototypes."

Julian tapped the screen. Crisp, crystal-clear footage played in real-time, showing Karen intruding into the closed space, snatching the handbag, grabbing a glass of red wine, intentionally splashing it over Julian and the $80,000 bag, throwing the piece onto the floor, and then knocking over a lamp to fake an assault.

"Officer," Julian stated, his voice as cold as ice, "I am pressing full criminal charges for high-value grand larceny, felony property destruction valued at $80,000, trespassing, and filing a false police report."

"Wait! No! It was a complete mistake! I'll buy the bag!" Karen shrieked, her voice cracking into a panicked squeak as the two officers pulled out steel handcuffs and stepped forward.

In a blind, hysterical panic to avoid arrest, Karen spun around and sprinted toward the glass exit doors. But in her wild, clumsy rush, her three-inch stiletto heel caught on the heavy brass base of a five-foot-tall promotional perfume display fountain set up near the entrance.

She lost her balance completely.

CRASH!

With a terrifying shatter of glass, Karen plunged headfirst into the giant crystal perfume reservoir.

Gallons of concentrated, sticky floral fragrance and pink scented liquid splashed everywhere, completely soaking her faux-fur coat, designer dress, and manicured hair. She tumbled onto the marble floor, dripping wet, smelling overpoweringly of hyper-concentrated rose essence, and covered in harmless glitter from the display.

To make matters worse, the glass doors opened right at that exact second, revealing thirty high-profile fashion journalists, paparazzi, and billionaire VIP guests arriving early for the gala. Dozens of camera flashes instantly burst, lighting up the entire street as reporters snapped photos of the drenched, sticky woman writhing on the floor.

Security dragged a coughing, dripping, hyper-fragrant Karen to her feet, and the police snapped heavy steel handcuffs onto her sticky wrists right in front of the flashing cameras. Madame Genevieve handed her an immediate notice of permanent global store banishment alongside a formal $80,000 invoice for the ruined prototype.

Weeping, smelling like an entire perfume factory, and utterly humiliated, Karen was marched out to the police cruiser in total disgrace while Julian calmly dusted off his turtleneck and welcomed his guests to the showroom.
