Ingredients

1½ cups (360 ml) heavy whipping cream

¾ cup (90 g) powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Coffee Chocolate Layer

1 cup (240 ml) strong espresso

2 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)

1 cup (180 g) mini chocolate chips

2 tbsp cocoa powder
For the Cake Base

1 prepared vanilla sponge cake layer (8-inch / 20 cm)

1 tbsp cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Pan

Line the sides of an 8-inch springform pan with ladyfingers standing upright.

Place the sponge cake layer in the bottom.

Lightly brush with espresso.
Step 2 – Make the Mascarpone Cream

Beat mascarpone until smooth.

In another bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Add powdered sugar and vanilla.

Fold whipped cream into mascarpone until silky.
Step 3 – Assemble the Layers

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the sponge.

Sprinkle half the chocolate chips.

Drizzle a little espresso mixture.

Add remaining mascarpone cream.

Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips.
Step 4 – Chill

Smooth the top.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.

Overnight chilling produces the best texture.
Step 5 – Decorate

Dust the entire top generously with cocoa powder.

Arrange mixed berries in the center.

Lightly dust the edges with powdered sugar.
