The sheer force of the blast instantly blew her gold-rimmed designer sunglasses off her face, sending them shattering against the concrete wall. The thick pink foam slammed her head backward, completely destroying her styled hair, flooding her eyes, nose, and mouth, and knocking her completely off balance.

Karen let out a choked, gurgling scream as her heels slid across the wet floor, sending her flying backward to crash flat on her back in a giant puddle of soapy pink sludge.

Things went from bad to catastrophic in a matter of seconds. As Karen tumbled backward onto the concrete floor, her instinctual panic caused her fingers to clamp down even tighter on the foam wand's trigger.

The unrestrained wand whipped violently around like an angry snake, spraying a torrential, high-pressure stream of thick pink foam across the bay—and straight through the fully open windows of Karen's own brand-new luxury SUV.

WHSSSHHH!

For ten agonizing seconds, gallons of dark pink chemical foam flooded the interior of her vehicle. The thick, corrosive soap completely drenched the hand-stitched leather upholstery, pooled deep into the carpeted floorboards, and submerged the delicate digital touchscreen dashboard and high-end sound system in a sea of pink bubbles.

Ben sprinted across the bay and slammed the emergency master shut-off valve. The deafening hiss of compressed air died down, leaving only the sound of dripping pink foam and Karen’s hysterical coughing.

Karen dragged herself up from the floor, coughing up pink suds, her designer dress ruined, and her hair matted to her head like a clump of wet pink yarn.

"I'M SUING THIS PLACE INTO THE DUST!" Karen shrieked, wiping foam from her eyes. "YOU ATTACKED ME! YOUR EQUIPMENT IS FAULTY! YOU WILL PAY FOR MY MEDICAL BILLS AND MY DRESS!"

Mr. Smith slowly walked over, pulling his smartphone from his pocket and dialing a number on speakerphone.

"I wouldn't start threatening lawsuits just yet, Karen," Mr. Smith said, his voice ice-cold. "I am Richard Smith, Chairman and CEO of Smith Real Estate Development. And if I’m not mistaken, your husband is an accounting manager at my firm, currently under review for a promotion to Chief Financial Officer."

Karen froze mid-shriek. The pink foam dripping from her nose suddenly felt very cold. "W-What?"

Before she could process the name, the speakerphone clicked, and a man's voice rang out clearly across the bay: "Mr. Smith! Thank you for calling, sir. Is everything alright?"

"Not quite, David," Mr. Smith replied calmly into the phone. "I’m currently standing in a car wash bay where your wife just insulted me, attempted to sabotage a three-hundred-thousand-dollar classic car, destroyed shop equipment, and completely flooded your family's SUV with industrial chemical foam."

Dead silence hung over the line for three terrifying seconds, followed by a sharp gasp.

"She did WHAT?!" her husband roared over the speaker. "Karen, tell me he's joking! Are you insane?! Do you have any idea who you're talking to?!"

"David, please!" Karen whimpered, her fake bravado evaporating instantly. "It was an accident! This rude worker—"

"Shut your mouth!" her husband barked, his voice trembling with sheer panic and rage. "Mr. Smith, I am so sorry. I am cutting off her credit cards right now. I don't care what it costs, we will pay for everything!"

Ten minutes later, the police and a tow truck arrived. The officers reviewed the high-definition security camera footage, which clearly showed Karen barging into a restricted bay, ignoring safety warnings, and intentionally firing the industrial equipment.

The police issued Karen citations for criminal mischief and reckless property damage, leaving her with a mandatory $2,000 fine to cover the shop's broken equipment. To make matters worse, the tow truck driver confirmed that because she intentionally fired the foam cannon into her own vehicle, her auto insurance would not cover the $15,000+ needed to replace the SUV's fried electrical systems.

Crying real, bitter tears, dripping in sticky pink sludge, and completely humiliated, Karen was forced to ride in the passenger seat of the tow truck as her ruined SUV was hauled away.

Once the commotion cleared, Mr. Smith handed Ben a crisp $1,000 cash tip for his unwavering professionalism in protecting the vintage car, along with his personal business card—promising Ben a guaranteed engineering management position at his firm the moment he graduated college.
